The elements of complacency
Among the tireless axial planes
Humanity endures through attention
Yet the day always fades
Endless conflict for the spotlight
Trade compassion for competition
Only the few and far between
will stray away.
My soul is at rest with one
My mind is at ease with one
Veils over blissful eyes
For the shadows only lull me
The endless atrophy of this realm
The judgmental seek all
Abhorrent habits from man to man
Perpetual feats for the hearts of the weak
As the age of awareness progresses
My sight of humanity regresses
Diabolic filth, the stench of greed
Casting bright lights upon the appeased
Within the obscurity
The one consoling me
This umbra

I will stand inside this shadow
Amongst the one who accompanies me
Commonality has only brought exhaustion
